Michelle Coulthard is an Aboriginal Community Education Officer at Flinders View Primary School in Port Augusta, South Australia. Michelle is Adnyamathana (Flinders Ranges, SA) and Dieri. In her role at the school, Michelle supports First Nations Australian students and their families and also assists teaching staff to develop and maintain relationships with students, parents and families. She works with teachers to implement Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures in curriculum design and delivery. Michelle promotes Community voice in educational decision-making.
Dr Caty Morris is Project Manager with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Mathematics Alliance after seven years as Curriculum Specialist, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education with ACARA. In 2017, she received a doctorate for her research in responsive mathematics pedagogy with Aboriginal learners. Her work in both mathematics education and First Nations Australian education has been at school, regional, state, and national levels. During 2009-2014, Caty managed the Closing the Gap project Make it count for the Australian Association of Mathematics Teachers to improve mathematics and numeracy learning outcomes of urban and regional Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in seven clusters of schools across Australia.
